Travel Document

When traveling in or out of the UK, you will need specific travel documents in order to comply with immigration laws. Whether your trip is for personal or business reasons, to visit family or friends, to study, or just to take a trip, aligning the proper documents ahead of time will ensure that your travel goes smoothly and without problems with local officials or regulations.

However, where an individual has applied for asylum in the UK, it is not always possible for them to leave their country of residence with a specific travel document. Once this individual has been through the asylum process and has been granted with refugee status in the UK, they are then entitled to apply for a travel document from the Home Office. Before one can do this, they must show that for some reason, they cannot get a passport from their own national authorities.

You can apply for a travel document in certain special circumstances, and the Home Office issue different types of travel documents depending on an individuals circumstances.
